I coach leaders in transition such as taking on larger role.

Being in a new role with new teams and/or geography means that you will make mistakes.

“Failing” doesn’t mean you aren’t good or right for the role.

Failing is part of progress.

A prerequisite of success.

How else will you learn if you don’t fail?

We all take failure hard.

But we can make it easier on ourselves.

Be more resilient to failure.

How? 👇

1.     Pause

a.     Take a moment to process your emotions.

b.     Your emotions are valid

c.     Sit with the discomfort and let it pass through you.  Without judgement.

2.     Reflect

a.     What did you learn?

b.     What could you have done differently?

3.     Gather feedback

a.     Gaining feedback helps put things in context

b.     It may not be as bad as you think

c.     There could’ve been others factors you were not aware of

4.     Respond

a.     What do you need to do to remedy the situation?

b.     What can you do to ensure it doesn’t happen again?

What else could you do to be more resilient to failure?
