You’re in a new role.

The pressure is immense.

It seems like everyone is watching you.

Your actions and words are magnified.

You snapped in a meeting.

Your team look at you.

You start beating yourself up – again.

Now what?

Great leaders aren’t defined by never making mistakes.

But by how fast they recover.

So how do you stop the spiralling and reclaim your footing?

✅ Own it – Publicly

A swift direct apology.  No “buts”.

Defensiveness destroys trust faster than the mistake itself.

✅ Name the emotion

Regret? Shame? Frustration?

Label the emotion to detach from it.

You feel the emotion, you aren't the emotion.

✅ What’s the lesson?

What will you do differently next time?

Find the gift in the noise.

✅ Forgive and Let Go

You’re human.  Mistakes happen.

The goal is progress, not perfection.

Move on.

The faster your move through these steps, the faster you return to being the leader that you want to be.

What your#1  tip for bouncing back?
