I coach executives in transition such as taking on a role with a larger business remit.
I recently worked with a female executive up for promotion.
She ticked most of the required competencies and experience for the next role.
Except
Her stakeholders didn’t feel like they knew her.
Her 360 feedback was consistent in that she seemed to do and say the right things but didn’t seem authentic.
Why is being authentic important?
It fosters trust.
As a leader, your success is through others.
It helps if your teams trust you.

Through your actions, thoughts and words.
Especially when others have different opinions.
